Israeli and Palestinian community coordinators for FoEME’s Good Water Neighbors project accept a Green Globe Award
On Thursday, April 22, the 40th Anniversary of International Earth Day, FoEME was honored to accept a Green Globe Award.
The Green Globe is an annual award given by Life and the Environment, the umbrella organization of Israeli environmental organizations, in cooperation with the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Channel 10, and local businesses. The Green Globe Award ceremony, sponsored by the Green Environment Fund, recognizes and honors outstanding contributions to promote the environment in Israel.
FoEME’s Good Water Neighbors project, which pairs communities in Israel, Palestine, and Jordan to cooperate over the protection of shared water resources, was chosen as this year’s Green Globe honoree for the Environmental Education category.
Check out the following video (in Hebrew), which was shown at last week’s standing-room-only ceremony! Or visit this Jerusalem Post article to read about all of this year’s winners.
